You started Full Legs Laser. You had your first session. Now you wait 5 weeks for session two. You need to shave during these 5 weeks. But shaving feels different now. Your hair is changing. Let me tell you exactly what to expect and how often you need to shave between each session.
Between Session One And Session Two
You shave your legs the day before session one. For the first 3 days after session one, your legs are red and sensitive. Do not shave. Let your skin recover.
On day 4, you can shave if needed. Most clients do not need to shave until day 7 because the laser has already damaged the hair follicles. The hair feels softer. It grows slower.
From day 7 to day 14, you shave every 3 to 4 days instead of daily. Your legs feel smooth for longer. You notice patchy shedding. Some areas have no hair at all.
From day 14 to day 28, you shave twice per week. Your lower legs show significant reduction. Your upper thighs still have hair but it is thinner.
You shave the day before session two. Your legs are much easier to shave now. The razor glides without resistance.
Between Session Two And Session Three
You notice the difference immediately. After session two, your legs stay smooth for 5 days without shaving. By day 10, you have visible bald patches on your shins and calves.
You shave once per week during this interval. Sometimes you forget to shave and do not notice until someone mentions it. That never happened before laser.
Your upper thighs start showing reduction. The hair is finer. Shaving takes 2 minutes instead of 10.
Between Session Three And Session Four
You have 50 to 60 percent reduction on your lower legs. You shave every 10 days. Your upper thighs have 30 to 40 percent reduction. You shave them once per week.
You stop thinking about shaving. It is no longer part of your daily routine. You shave when you remember, not because you have to.
Between Session Four And Session Five
Your lower legs have 70 percent reduction. You shave every 2 weeks. The hair that grows is fine and light. You could skip shaving entirely and only notice if you looked closely.
Your upper thighs have 50 percent reduction. You shave every 10 days.
You stop buying razor blades in bulk. The pack you bought 3 months ago is still half full.
Between Session Five And Session Six
Your lower legs have 85 percent reduction. You shave once per month. You do it out of habit, not necessity.
Your upper thighs have 65 percent reduction. You shave every 2 weeks.
You consider throwing away your razor. You keep it for emergencies.
Between Session Six And Session Seven
Most clients stop shaving their lower legs entirely. There is nothing to shave. The remaining hairs are isolated and invisible.
Your upper thighs have 75 percent reduction. You shave every 3 weeks.
You forget the last time you bought shaving cream.
Between Session Seven And Session Eight
You complete your sessions. You do not shave your legs at all. You touch your skin and feel smooth. You wear shorts without checking. You go to the beach without preparation.
Your legs look like you just shaved, every day, forever.
The Doha Summer Test
You have your sessions scheduled so you finish before summer. June arrives. You wear shorts daily. You never shave. You never think about stubble. You never experience razor burn from salt water.
Your friends ask what lotion you use. They think you have naturally hairless legs. You tell them about laser. They book their own consultations.
What If You Miss A Shave Before A Session?
Do not arrive with long hair. Your technician cannot treat legs with hair longer than 1 millimeter. The laser energy gets absorbed by the visible hair above the skin and burns you.
Shave 24 hours before every session. If you forget, call your clinic. They may reschedule you or offer to shave you for a small fee.
The Razor You Should Use Between Sessions
Use a fresh razor for each session preparation shave. Between sessions, use a razor with moisturizing strips. Your skin is more sensitive during laser treatment. Cheap razors cause irritation.
Do not use electric razors between sessions. Electric razors cut hair above the skin, not at the surface. This leaves stubble that interferes with the laser.
What Not To Do Between Sessions?
Do not wax your legs. Do not use hair removal cream. Do not epilate. Do not pluck. These methods remove the hair root. The laser needs the root to be present.
Do not exfoliate aggressively. Gentle exfoliation with a soft washcloth is fine. Scrubs with large particles irritate treated skin.
Do not tan your legs. Sun exposure between sessions delays your results. Your specialist must lower laser settings on tanned skin, which means less effective treatment.
Signs Your Legs Are Responding Well
You shave less often. The hair is finer. The stubble is softer. Your skin feels smoother even when hair is present. You stop dreading shaving.
Signs You Need More Sessions
Your upper thighs are not responding as fast as your lower legs. This is normal. Upper thighs have thinner hair and slower growth cycles. You need more sessions for upper thighs than lower legs.
Your inner thighs still have hair. Inner thighs are hormonal areas. They respond like bikini hair, not like lower leg hair. Plan for 2 to 3 additional sessions for inner thighs.
